Chalet ORO, is an exceptionally elegant chalet located in the heart of the Dolomites in the little town of Selva, at the head of the Gardena valley. Tucked on the side of the valley, the views are simply breath-taking with the Sella Massif to the east, the dramatic Sassolungo to the south and the Pic to the North. The mountain range with its 18 peaks is coAnsidered one of the most beautiful mountain landscapes in the world and is protected as a world Unesco heritage site. There really is no better view to wake up to or to relax to after a day of sport or exploring.

Chalet ORO is positioned in an idyllic spot just a few minutes on foot from the centre of the town. Selva di Val Gardena offers a varied selection of local shops, bars and restaurants. You may be surprised to know that dining experiences here are at the cutting edge with currently two Michelin starred restaurants in this tiny town! The wine lists are exceptional, drawing from the internationally lesser-known Italian regions of Trentino and Alto Adige. 

In sociological terms, this area has a rich cultural heritage, a blend of Austrian, Italian and distinctly local, very ancient roots. Archeological findings hint to the fact that this valley was settled in prehistorical times. The locals speak Ladin, a language older than Italian and still taught in schools. Another curiosity is the proliferation of woodcarving shops. The carvings, traditionally religious in theme, have their roots in the 17th century, the period coming after the brutal middle ages  

Undoubtedly the main pull of Selva di Val Gardena is however, that simply put, it is a skier’s paradise. It is a short drive to the Col Raiser, Saslong and Dantercepies gondolas and even closer to the Ciampionu one. These will give you a huge variety of skiing opportunities including access into the Sella Ronda and wider Dolomiti Superski., incidentally, the largest skiing carousel in the world! The famous ski circuit round the Sella alpenstock, that is to say the Sellaronda, runs right past Selva Gardena. There are also other winter activities should you wish to indulge, such as the Pranives ice stadium and the skate track. 

Why not also consider enjoying Chalet ORO during all the other glorious seasons? How about mountain biking the sellaronda in spring when there is a riot of flowers covering the meadows? Discover  the mysterious, ethereal beauty of the ‘Lech di ciampedal ‘ lake, a jade coloured meltwater lake that only lasts a couple of weeks. In the summer do as the Italians do and escape to the fresh air of the mountains to hike or cycle through green pastures and admire the cool waters of the glistening lakes. How to miss the autumn when the famous pale mountains are rechristened as “the burning dolomites”. Admire them as you bask in the chalet’s heated pool and the whole area is a spectacular explosion of fall colours.

The Property
Surrounded by the majestic peaks of the Dolomites, Chalet ORO provides an extraordinarily stylish and elegant setting for those seeking complete relaxation in one of the most appreciated areas in Northern Italy. Set in its own private garden with a heated infinity pool, boasting a spa, gym, wine cellar, heated outdoor seating amongst other exclusive touches, this 4-bedroom chalet has a sophisticated design and exudes stylish chic. It can accommodate up to 8 guests in 4 double bedrooms each with its own en-suite bathroom. 

The spacious bedrooms are all found on the first floor of the chalet and have their own large, sleek bathrooms equipped with walk in showers and double sinks. The bedrooms all have direct access to the garden complete with panoramic views and heated infinity pool with integrated jacuzzi. Also found on the first floor is the entrance hall with wardrobe and guest bathroom. 

The generously proportioned lounge area with open fireplace, open-plan kitchen and large windows is located on the second floor. The area is flooded with natural light and in central position with views on both sides is the amply sized dining table where a delicious breakfast sourced from local products is served daily. Leading out from a large glass door, there is an inviting terrace which offers a heated seating area where one can luxuriate with perhaps a glass of wine or afternoon tea and pastries whilst enjoying the crisp fresh air.

In the basement you will find the exclusive in-house spa area, boasting a Finnish sauna, a Turkish bath and a hot tub. There is also a state-of-the-art fitness room and the bike and ski depot complete with ski boot warmer. From the basement you will also access the underground garage offering space for 3 cars and also housing an e-bike charging station. From the garage you can easily reach the upper floors by elevator making the hard part of skiing holidays as pain free as possible!
