Although the Castel San Pietro spa was founded in 1870, the healing power of its sodium chloride, bromide and iodide-rich sulfur water was known as far back as 1337. Far from the hustle and bustle of the city and nestled in the lush greenery of 4000-square-meter parkland, the complex is an oasis of peace and harmony, just half an hour drive from Bologna.

The villa is a few kilometers from Dozza, a fairy-tale town with an imposing hillside fortress. Dozza is also famous for the many paintings that adorn the facades of the houses and give the town a distinctive and colorful appearance.
