There is nothing comparable to the beauty of the Roman skyline, from the sweet inclination of the various rooftops and the sinuous and vivacious curves of the the mountains that confines them...from a letter by Francois-Renè de Chateaubriand to Marchese di Fontanes, 1804.

Description

Property 1551365440 – Rome

2 Bedrooms – Jacuzzi

Location and Surrounding Area. Situated in an iconic location overlooking Piazza Navona in the center of Rome, this luxurious two-bedroom apartment is steps from the city’s most exclusive dining, shopping and entertainment option. With a central location, many of Rome’s must-see attractions including The Trevi Fountain, The Colosseum, and The Vatican City are within easy walking distance, with the rest just a short taxi ride away. It would take weeks to see all that the city has to offer, but a few days is enough to explore Rome’s most beautiful sites.

Head to Piazza Navona, a magnificent square with a fountain by Bernini and a popular gathering point for Romans with its bustling terraced cafés and seasonal fairgrounds. The property is a few steps from the Pantheon, the city’s ancient temple and a must for any visit to Rome. The Trevi Fountain, the world’s most famous fountain, is just around the corner. The fountain is a Baroque explosion of tritons, winged horses and drinking snakes, and its water glitters with thousands of coins that tourists have tossed in.

The property is just a stone’s throw away from the Palatine Hill and the Roman Forum, the ancient center of the civil and religious life of the city. The villa is also a few kilometers from the Sistine Chapel and the Roman sculpture-and-sarcophagi-stuffed Vatican Museums, which are normally top of a first-time visitor’s bucket list. Your journey is not complete without a visit to St. Peter's Square and St. Peter's Basilica, one of the largest churches ever built.

The Colosseum, the biggest amphitheater ever built and the most eloquent symbol of Imperial Rome, is just a short drive away. By car, it is about ten minutes from the apartment. Half circus, half sports arena, Rome’s most famous classical ruin is unmissable, especially now that they have extended the visitor route to the underfloor passageways through which gladiators and wild beasts made their entrances.

Property 1551365440 is 16 km from Rome-Ciampino “G.B. Pastine” International Airport and 31 km from Rome-Fiumicino “Leonardo da Vinci” International Airport. The apartment is just 40 meters from Piazza Navona. The Pantheon is 600 m from the villa, the Trevi Fountain is 2.5 km, St. Peter’s Basilica and St. Peter’s Square are 2.5 km, the Palatine Hill is 3 km, the Colosseum is 3 km, the Roman Forum is 3 km, the Vatican Museums are 4 km, the Sistine Chapel is 4 km, and the Galleria Borghese is 5 km.

The Property. Located in the church of Sant’Agnese in Agone, which has been attributed to Francesco Borromini, the 350-square-meter Property 1551365440 is on the southwest side of Piazza Navona in the heart of the Eternal City. Featuring stunning ceiling frescoes and traditional baroque décor, the apartment preserves the history of the building and surrounding area. Overlooking the Fountain of the Four Rivers, Property 1551365440 can sleep four guests in two double bedrooms complete with bathroom.

The beautifully-renovated Palazzo Pamphili is the pride and joy of the former power couple Giorgia and Stefano Barbini, previously of Escada Italia. This 17th-century architectural masterpiece is steeped in history and tells the tale of the forbidden romance between Pope Innocent X and his sister-in-law Olimpia Pamphilj. This exquisite apartment perfectly blends traditional architecture with modern accents in the romantic setting of ancient Rome.

A narrow pathway connecting the apartment with the entrance leads to the property. This was designed by architect Borromini so that Pope Innocent X could ride his white donkey directly to his quarters from the Vatican. The Property 1551365440 has a horseshoe layout that connects to two separate wings of the house. A magnificent blend results from the seamless fusion of traditional Baroque design from the 17th century with modernism from the 21st century.

Each room exudes superior luxury, and guests will be at ease amid the plush soft furniture and muted color scheme. The open-plan layout allows for plenty of light, which highlights the magnificent marble-framed passages. The apartment's understated blue-gray tones are complemented by unique color accents in each room. The two bedrooms, each with a unique view and bathroom, are separated by a number of common spaces where you can relax with your fellow guests.

There is a library, a study, and a music room with a beautiful grand piano. There is also an elegant dining area with chandeliers for an authentic Italian feel. Located on the Via Dell'Anima side of the building, the music room is distinguished by its metallic accents, marble passageways, gray walls, and Allegrini Old Testament frescoes that highlight the grand piano in the room. The study is a classic and scholarly elegant area with a custom leather desk, velour couch, antique books and lamp accents.

The library, which features frescoes depicting the Pamphili family, boasts built-in bookcases, an antique fireplace, and a long velvet bench. The lounge bar is located between the kitchen and the master bedroom. This modern rendition, inspired by the Roman Triclinium, has a built-in bar and TV cabinet. The kitchen and dining area feature gold-backed custom shelves, an antique Seguso Murano glass chandelier, and a peninsula and table made of antique Amazon marble.

The Via Dell’Anima bedroom is enveloped in deep velvet and woven fabric wallpaper highlighting the incredible floral wall art and complementing the ceiling fresco above. An antique marble fireplace adds further warmth and style to the room. The large adjoining dressing room features custom-designed closets, mirrors, and original sketches that pay homage to the Brioni family. The entry to the bathroom, which has an interior area to house the toilet and the shower, is effectively concealed by a hidden door.

The Pope bedroom is the apartment’s master bedroom and was designed for Pope Innocent X himself. The bedroom, complete with en-suite bathroom, features an elevated bed with an elaborate headboard, which is the centerpiece of the room’s design, a balcony overlooking Piazza Navona, and eight-meter-high ceilings covered in beautiful frescoes. With its gorgeous en-suite bathroom leading to a lavish Jacuzzi, guests can unwind in style in a room steeped in history.
